Let the Traveling Begin

Sunday, January 16 marked the first day of my "new life." I traveled from St. Louis, Missouri, to Chicago, Illinois, and onto Frankfurt, Germany, and finally descended in the land of milk and honey...Italy!  Although I flew into Venice, my travels for the day continued until I reached a charming town located in the northeastern region, Paderno del Grappa.
I'll be studying at the Consortium Institute of Management and Business Analysis, CIMBA, during the week and traveling as much as possible on the weekends.  After missing my first train, resulting in a missed bus, I am confident that my time spent in Europe will not only be spontaneous, but also life-changing. I am eager to embark into the unknown territories of Italy and other European countries with some of my friends from the University of Kansas.
I was born and raised in St. Louis, but, when it came to my college decision, Mizzou held nothing on the beautiful campus of KU.  I am earning a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, with a concentration in strategic communications, and my focus in advertising.  I am excited to expand my advertising knowledge by paying attention to European ads and learning more about international advertisement.  Even though my journalism major is through strategic communications, I still love to write.  I have been in Paderno for less than two days and already have so much to say; I want to share everything about it.  The dependable, and nosy, roosters that wake me every morning; the smell of the fresh pizza dough; the melody of the Italian language; the way the shadows fall across the mountains as the sun sets; the refreshing energy of sleeping with the window open and waking up to the natural morning light, and the crisp winter air. I want to share everything.
And that is my goal, to share every detail, every emotion and every sense I experience through my writing.  Because this is a once in a lifetime experience, I’m out of my comfort zone, and I am not in Kansas anymore.
